Section B tests ਵਿਆਖਿਆ with reference to context from prescribed ਕਾਫੀਆਂ, ਵਾਰਾਂ, ਬਾਰਾਮਾਹ, ਸਲੋਕ ਫਰੀਦ, ਬਾਬਾ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਫਰੀਦ ਦੀਆਂ 112 ਸਲੋਕਾਂ. Section C carries three long questions — one compulsory 20-mark ਵਿਸਤ੍ਰਿਤ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ of any ਕਾਫੀ/ਵਾਰ/ਸਲੋਕ, one on ਭਗਤੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਦਾ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ (15 marks), and one on ਸ਼ੇਖ ਫਰੀਦ ਜਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੁਸੈਨ ਦੀ ਰਚਨਾ-ਵਿਧੀ (15 marks). Every year at least one ਕਾਫੀ of ਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੁਸੈਨ or ਸਲੋਕ ਫਰੀਦ is directly repeated. Students who solve the last 10 years’ papers and sing/recite daily score 96–100 easily. ਪੂਰਵ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਾਲ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਿਤ (Course Code usually PUNL-101C or Major-101) is a 6-credit Core Course under NEP-2020 at Cluster University Jammu, designed to connect students deeply with the spiritual and folk roots of Punjabi literature. Unit-wise Syllabus & Marks Distribution: Unit I: ਭਗਤੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸਾਹਿਤ (18 marks) → ਭਗਤੀ ਅੰਦੋਲਨ ਦਾ ਉਦਭਵ ਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ; ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ – ਕਬੀਰ, ਨਾਮਦੇਵ, ਰਵਿਦਾਸ, ਧੰਨਾ, ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ, ਬੇਣੀ, ਜੈਦੇਵ, ਪੀਪਾ, ਸੈਨ, ਰਾਮਾਨੰਦ, ਸਧਨਾ, ਭੀਖਨ, ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦ; ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਭਗਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ। Unit II: ਬਾਬਾ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਫਰੀਦ ਤੇ ਸਲੋਕ (25 marks) → ਜੀਵਨ ਤੇ ਰਚਨਾ-ਵਿਧੀ; ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿੱਚ 112 ਸਲੋਕ ਤੇ 4 ਸ਼ਬਦ; ਮੁੱਖ ਸਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ (ਫਰੀਦਾ ਬੰਨ ਬਬੀਹਾ, ਫਰੀਦਾ ਜੇ ਤੂ ਅਕਲ ਲਤੀਫ, ਫਰੀਦਾ ਖਾਲਕ ਖਲਕ ਮਹਿ ਆਦਿ ਆਦਿ ਆਦਿ ਆਦਿ ਆਦਿ)। Unit III: ਸੂਫੀ ਕਵੀ ਤੇ ਕਾਫੀਆਂ (18 marks) → ਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੁਸੈਨ (ਹੇ ਸੱਜਣਾ ਰੱਬ ਤੇਰਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਮੀਠਾ, ਰੱਬਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਾਲ ਦਾ ਮੇਹਰਮ ਤੂੰ), ਸੁਲਤਾਨ ਬਾਹੂ (ਅਲਿਫ ਅੱਲਾਹ ਚਮੜੀ, ਬਾਹੂ ਹੂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹੂ), ਬੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਸ਼ਾਹ (ਬੁੱਲ੍ਹਿਆ ਕੀ ਜਾਣਾ ਮੈਂ ਕੌਣ, ਰਾਂਝਾ ਰਾਂਝਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਨੀ ਮੈਂ ਆਪੇ ਰਾਂਝਾ ਹੋਈ); ਕਾਫੀ ਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਤਾ। Unit IV: ਵਾਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਲੋਕ-ਧਾਰਾ (12 marks) → ਹੀਰ ਵਾਰਾਂ (ਦਮੋਦਰ, ਵਾਰਿਸ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ); ਬਾਰਾਮਾਹ ਤੇ ਲੋਕ-ਗੀਤ; ਨਾਥ ਯੋਗੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ; ਸਿੱਧ ਗੋਸ਼ਟ। Examination Scheme: • Theory: 70 marks (Section A: 10×1 = 10 compulsory; Section B: 5/7 × 6 = 30 short explanations; Section C: 3/5 × 10 = 30 long answers) • Internal Assessment: 20 marks (tests + recitation + attendance) • Tutorial: 10 marks (ਕਾਫੀ/ਸਲੋਕ recitation + discussion) Tutorial Component (Compulsory): 1. 20 ਕਾਫੀਆਂ ਤੇ 20 ਸਲੋਕ ਗਾਕੇ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ 2. ਸ਼ੇਖ ਫਰੀਦ ਜਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਹੁਸੈਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ 3. ਲੋਕ-ਗੀਤ ਤੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਲਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਤੁਲਨਾ Recommended Books: 1. ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਦਾ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ – ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਤੇਜਾ ਸਿੰਘ 2. ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਗਤ ਬਾਣੀ – ਡਾ. ਰਤਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੱਗੀ 3. ਸ਼ੇਖ ਫਰੀਦ – ਡਾ. ਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ 4. ਸੂਫੀ ਕਾਵਿ – ਡਾ. ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੋਹਲੀ Preparation Strategy: ਰੋਜ਼ 5 ਕਾਫੀਆਂ ਤੇ 10 ਸਲੋਕ ਯਾਦ ਕਰੋ, ਗਾਓ, ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਕਰੋ, ਪਿਛਲੇ 10 ਸਾਲ ਪੇਪਰ ਹੱਲ ਕਰੋ। ਇਹ ਪੇਪਰ 95+ ਅੰਕ ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਨਾਲ ਜਜ਼ਬਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। (548 words)
