Cluster University Jammu 1st Semester B.Sc Zoology Basics in Zoology Previous Year Question Paper

The Previous Year Question Paper of “Basics in Zoology” in 1st semester B.Sc Zoology/Medical at Cluster University Jammu is the most fundamental, diagram-rich and NEET/JKBOPEE-deciding paper that every zoology student solves 25–35 times. This 3-hour, 70-mark paper (plus 30 marks practical) is 60% theory + 40% diagrams/numerical. Section A has 10 compulsory short questions on animal diversity, five-kingdom classification, binomial nomenclature, protozoa to mammalia salient features, levels of organisation, symmetry, body cavity, and basic physiology (osmoregulation, excretion, respiration). Section B tests labelled diagrams of Amoeba, Hydra, Earthworm, Cockroach, Frog digestive/reproductive system, and short notes on Porifera to Echinodermata phyla. Section C carries three heavy questions — one compulsory 20-mark on “Detailed classification of Animal Kingdom with examples + any one phylum (Protozoa/Chordata) with diagram”, one 15-mark on “Life cycle & pathogenicity of Plasmodium/Entamoeba with diagram”, and one 15-mark on “Type study – Pheretima posthuma (external characters, digestive, nervous, reproductive system with labelled diagrams)”. Every year at least one diagram (Earthworm/Frog) and Plasmodium life cycle is directly repeated. Students who solve the last 10 years’ papers and draw 100+ labelled diagrams score 95–100 easily. Toppers maintain a personal “500 Diagrams + 100 Phyla Features + Daily NEET MCQ Diary”. This question paper is therefore not just an exam — it is the direct foundation for NEET-UG, JKBOPEE, JKSSB Lab Assistant, Forest Guard, Wildlife Inspector, and every medical/zoology career in J&K. Practising it repeatedly turns a beginner into a confident zoologist from day one. (332 words)
