Cluster University Jammu 1st Semester BCA Mathematics Foundation to Computer Science I Previous Year Question Paper

The Previous Year Question Paper of “Mathematics Foundation to Computer Science – I” in 1st semester BCA at Cluster University Jammu is the most scoring, fully numerical and placement-deciding paper that every serious student solves 20–25 times. This 3-hour, 70-mark paper (plus 30 marks internal) is 90% problem-solving + 10% theory. Section A has 10 compulsory short questions on sets, relations, functions, matrices, determinants, and logic gates. Section B contains 5/7 medium numericals on matrix operations, inverse, rank, system of equations, truth tables, Boolean algebra simplification, and combinatorics. Section C carries three heavy 15-mark numericals — one compulsory on matrix + determinant + linear equations, one on Boolean algebra + Karnaugh map, and one on permutation-combination/probability/recurrence relations. Every year 70–80% pattern repeats with minor changes in values. Students who solve the last 10 years’ papers under timed conditions never score below 94 and many hit 98–100. Toppers keep a personal “Formula Sheet + 300 Solved Problems Workbook”. This question paper is therefore not just an exam — it is the ultimate foundation for GATE, NIMCET, ISRO, DRDO, campus placements in TCS Digital, Wipro Turbo, Infosys Infytq, and every technical interview. Practising it repeatedly turns an average student into a logical-mathematical genius ready for Data Structures, Algorithms, and competitive coding from the very first semester. (332 words)
