Pharmaceutical Chemistry-I (Course Code usually CHEM-101 SEC or Skill-101) is a 4-credit Skill Enhancement Course under NEP-2020 at Cluster University Jammu, specially designed for direct entry into pharmaceutical industry and drug regulatory jobs. Unit-wise Syllabus & Marks Distribution: Unit I: Introduction & Sources of Drugs (18 marks) → History of pharmacy in India; pharmacopoeia (IP, BP, USP, EP); sources of drugs (plant – morphine, quinine; animal – insulin; mineral – ferrous sulphate; synthetic – paracetamol); classification of drugs – chemical, pharmacological, therapeutic.
