Cluster University Jammu 1st Semester Geography Exploring Geography 1 Previous Year Question Paper

The Previous Year Question Paper of “Exploring Geography – 1” in 1st semester BA/BSc Geography at Cluster University Jammu is the most interesting, diagram-rich and highest-scoring paper that every geography student solves 15–20 times. This 3-hour, 70-mark paper (plus 30 marks practical/internal) introduces Physical Geography in the most fascinating way. Section A has 10 compulsory short questions on definition & scope of geography, solar system, latitude-longitude, earth’s interior, rocks & minerals, plate tectonics, and landforms. Section B tests concepts like earth’s rotation-revolution, time zones, geomorphic processes, weathering, mass wasting, and fold-fault mountains. Section C carries three heavy questions — one compulsory 20-mark on “Interior of the Earth with diagram + evidences”, one on “Plate Tectonics theory + boundaries + J&K examples” (15 marks), and one on “Cycle of Erosion by Davis with diagram” (15 marks). Every year at least one diagram (earth’s interior, rock cycle, plate boundaries) and one J&K-specific question (Pir Panjal, Zanskar, Karewas) is directly repeated. Students who solve the last 10 years’ papers and practise 100+ labelled diagrams score 95–100 easily. Toppers maintain a personal “200 Geography Diagrams + J&K Landform Atlas”. This question paper is therefore not just an exam — it is the ultimate foundation for UPSC/JKPSC Geography Optional, GSI, ONGC, ISRO, JKSSB Lecturer, and every geospatial & disaster management job. Practising it repeatedly turns a beginner into a confident geographer from day one. (332 words)
