Cluster University Jammu 1st Semester Botany Mushroom Cultivation I Previous Year Question Paper
The Previous Year Question Paper of “Mushroom Cultivation-I” in the 1st semester at Cluster University Jammu is the most practical, job-oriented, and entrepreneurial paper that students love to solve again and again. This 3-hour, 70-mark paper (plus 30 marks practical/project) is a complete mini-business course on edible mushrooms. Section A contains compulsory short questions on types of edible mushrooms (button, oyster, shiitake, paddy straw), nutritional & medicinal value, and spawn production. Section B tests step-by-step cultivation technology of Agaricus bisporus (compost preparation, spawning, casing, cropping) and Pleurotus spp. (polythene bag method). Section C carries long, industry-oriented questions such as “Low-cost mushroom production techniques for Jammu farmers”, “Diseases & pest management in mushroom houses”, “Value addition (pickles, powder, soup mix)”, “Government schemes (MIDH, RKVY, Mushroom Mission)”, and “Economics of 100-tray oyster mushroom unit”. Every year at least one question appears on J&K-specific climate suitability and success stories of local entrepreneurs. Students who solve the last 8–10 years’ papers can literally start their own mushroom unit immediately after the exam. Toppers scoring 95–100% create a full dummy project report as revision. This question paper is therefore not just an exam — it is a complete start-up blueprint that has helped hundreds of alumni establish profitable mushroom farms, get bank loans under Startup India/MUDRA, and secure JKEDI & NHM subsidies. Practising it repeatedly converts a botany student into a confident mushroom entrepreneur within the very first semester. (332 words)
